04 — Panels

From the daily production you want, we work out how many panels are needed per array.

Only used to work out how many panels to install — a deliberately quick estimate, independent from the more precise consumption profile in the Load profile step (which instead drives the battery and autonomy simulation). The two values may not match exactly — that's not an error, they serve different purposes.

Manual placeholder estimate, until you set the site coordinates in Exposure — from then on the real PVGIS data is used (position, orientation, tilt, shading).

Cable, inverter, temperature, soiling losses — typically 0.75-0.85. Also used as the system loss in Exposure's PVGIS calculation (recalculates there if you change it).

Array 1

Typically 300-600 Wp.

From the panel's datasheet, typically 30-50V. Needed in the Strings step.
